The watering facilities at Bro Hof are the most powerful in Scandinavia. ALL the grass is watered, even in the woodland, so that the course will always be beautifully green. There 1550 sprinklers for 18 holes, perhaps as 10 times as many as on a “normal” course. Computer controlled back-to-back-sprinklers provide precision control of how much water to supply to different areas.
All watering is managed electronically. Which sprinkler should be on, at what time and for how long can be programmed months in advance. Access to water will never be a problem, not even during a drought, because Bro Hof has access to Lake Mälaren.
In order to keep the greens in perfect condition back-to-back-watering is used, with 10 sprinklers on each green. Every other one goes inwards, and the others outwards. Naturally, all the functions are computer-controlled and the weather station can determine exact soil temperatures and water evaporation. The greens also have moisture sensors and can recognise when it is time for them to be watered.
