Mowing

 

There are ten or so mowers available to make all types
of mowing possible.

Tees and greens are single cut with a smaller mower that is pushed along in front, and which has a 60 cm wide cutting field. The advantage of single cutting is that the knives follow the ground on a “floating head” and the cut is perfect. Tee grass should be shorter than 6 mm. An ordinary triple cutter (which you sit on) can’t cope with the undulating greens, and often the space between the bunker and the green is too small for a large machine.
The machines that are often called greens mowers are instead used for the fairways, which should be max 10-12 mm high and 22 to 32 metres wide.
